AUGUST POSTINGS

PRAYER/PRAISE UPDATE

A word from "Ye olde editor" before we list this month's prayer requests and praises. Our wonderful Lord continues to show HIS greatness and glory in many ways. And I have been on the abundant receiving end in this past month. Once again, thank you for your prayers. I'm now in phase #2 of recovery — which means learning how to sit in normal ways again. It means being able to be out and about more frequently. All of this is a gradual process; however, I am excited about it and anticipating just how our Lord will choose to give it! Praise HIM with me, and thanks for your continued prayers in this recovery time.

The One who lives within us, and the One to whom we give our praise — HE is Lord over everything! Take time to express your praise to HIM from the very depths of your being! HE alone is worthy!!

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
the power, the glory, the victory and the majesty,
for all that is in the heavens and the earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
and Yours it is to be exalted as Head over all.

1 Chronicles 29:11

  • Pray for safety and endurance for our staff as they are involved with many manual labor projects this summer. Pray for wisdom to use both staff and resources efficiently and responsibly.
  • Staff housing will be an issue in the very near future. There is need for competent and skilled people to renovate and make livable the two empty houses we have on campus. If you have further questions, please write to: serve@holsby.org.
  • One of our staff ladies, Manuela Stephens, recently had a large ovarian cyst removed (as well as the ovary itself). The biopsy came back as neither "benign" nor "malignant." The current diagnosis reads "borderline." A second medical opinion by another doctor is being sought before a final diagnosis is given. However, frequent checks are already advised. Please pray for Manuela and her husband, Danny, as they walk through this chapter in their lives. They are finding their strength in the Lord. At this point, they are rejoicing that the initial diagnosis is NOT a straightforward malignancy, and they are trusting HIM for the steps that follow.
  • As of this fall, the Holsby office has need of a Booking and Scheduling Coordinator/Program Staff. For further information, please write to: serve@holsby.org.
  • Please pray for John & Christine Poysti as they conclude their North American home assignment — for meaningful times with people they meet, and for safe travels.
  • It has been a couple of months since we have given an update on our special Holsby friend, Puschel (from Germany). One very good bit of news is that the pelvic tumor has not grown significantly in the past few months. However, it has been pressing more on the surrounding nerves and causing increasing pain. Please pray for our dear sister. The family is seeking the possibility of further treatments. New issues keep entering the picture as well. Thank you for your prayers and your partnership with us!

See you all again September 1st with the PRAYER/PRAISE UPDATE section!
